The BELTA speech competition final.

The BELTA Speech Competition Final

There I was, standing on the RTB stage, ready to deliver my speech entitled 'How I Envision Brunei Darussalam 25 years from now'. I wore a big-sized blue blazer of my school, along with the PRS tie, and school uniform, looking very smart, confident, and happy. I was a bit nervous but the audiences wasn't that many, so this should go smoothly. I saw my mom and my sister just in front of the seats, but not so close to the stage, but still, I can see their faces so vividly colored.

The presenter, which I forgot the name, told me to start delivering the speech. Ok, the spotlight was bright, I could get blind by this stuff, but I'll just start it though. I delivered the salutations first, than the introduction, which the audiences there found it funny, and straight to the points. I stammered on some points, because I was a bit intimidated by the audiences, and I tried to forget the miserable performance on Form 3F earlier for practice, which I regretted on that decision. At last, it was time for the ending, I delivered it nicely, with a calm but stressed voice and when it ends, the audiences clapped and I zoomed off the stage, without bowing to the audience.

The girls congratulated me and I felt relieved, cause IT'S ALL OVER!!! I watched the remaining competitors, and to be frank, they did better than me. Oh great, how will I win now??? Then, it was time for the announcements of the winners. My heart was beating like crazy. Ok Amirul, try to calm down, it's really hard for me to get the first position so don't ever dream of getting the 1st place, hehe. So, consolations prizes and souvenirs were given first for the judge and officials. Later, it was the announcements of the winners.

The 3rd place goes to Nuraini Abd. Zabar from Chung Hwa Middle School Seria while the 2nd place goes to Dk Nur Syazana from St. James School and the 1st place goes to Luisa Lo Mei Hwa from Chung Hwa Middle School BSB. I got the 5th place, but I wasn't disappointed though, rather than getting the last place. Later, my mother and sister congartulated me, and also my supporters and teachers. I was asked to go to eat with the guest of honour along with other competitors. After that, I went home, feeling both happy and relieved, because it's over!!! FINALLY!!!
