I don't know how to start this but let's start it anyway. I was chosen as the represntative for my school for the speech competition by my English teacher. I felt shocked, as I have a serious stage fright. Believe me, I'll pee on my pants!! I agreed to join it and I was asked to decide what is the title. At first, I wanted to talk about 'Cars', but it's a bit too edgy. Next, my bro in-law, who is an English teacher, wanted me to talk about 'what started a school fight?' I tried and tried to guess for ideas, but it was of no use, as I had no experiences on school fights.
I felt disoriented, as I was having problems picking the right title for the competition. Then, I found out the most perfect title for the speech, MOBILE PHONES!!!! Yeah, already have a title, I immediately wrote the script. To my surprise, I finished the script in no time, about 500 words, for about an hour. I was super satisfied with the title and I will give the copy of my script to my teacher tommorow.
My teacher was also satisfied with the title, and he said that we'll start training soon. Yeah!!!! After weeks and weeks of training and scribbling on my script, unfortunately, bad news came from my English teacher. The officials from the BELTA speech competition stated that all of the topics for the speech must be about Brunei. What??? I hate it when someone told me to do something at the last minute!! I quickly changed the concept of the script and it took me quite a longer time cause it has to be about Brunei. So I changed my speech title to, 'Mobile Phones and Youth Today'. Job finished!!!!
I made the last required preparations for the preliminary round, improving my intonations and made my cards. Oh my god, I hope I'm not nervous for tomorrow!!!
